Wow he will be tough to replace after 15 years of winning and 11 bowl appearances, but I guess this is one of those "what have you done for me lately?" situations.

It takes a special kid to play at the Service academies. Good news is that we might see a normal offense instead of that option offense that has chewed us up over the years.

I'd expect another option coach at Navy. Some expressed similar relief when Paul Johnson left for Georgia Tech, until they found Niumatalolo. It's a system that allows undersized teams to compete against some more talented opponents.

Anybody else here serve? 8 years as an officer, 10th Mountain Division, Operation Enduring Freedom, infantry school, ranger school, airborne school, air assault school, etc. In other words the real "[deleted]." It's a choice, the choice is different today than it was during my time.

U.S. Navy, LTjg, Supply Corps on the USS Sampson (DDG-10), a Guided Missile Destroyer, in the late Sixties and early seventies. Deployed 3x to the Mediterranean.

I didn't but my dad did in WW2. I have his card showing he participated in DDay.
