Football Strategies

You guys might not be as interested in this as I am so I'll apologize if that is the case. However, I thought this was an interesting year from a coaching strategy standpoint. Of all the innovations introduced by our coaching staff, I really liked the shifting of the defensive line. I grew to appreciate a pronounced shifting line while watching SMU's defense under Hayden Fry. As a player and a coach, I also included some movement - not as pronounced but effective. As was obvious this year a timely shift can draw the OL offside. However, it can also confuse the OL on blocking assignments. I am pretty pumped about where these coaches are taking us.

It certainly always confused our offense line. I think we started doing it after we saw on film how badly we did against it.

I assume that messes with the O Line blocking scheme, who has who, etc.?
