In an interview with @TheAthletic, Arizona President Robert Robbins said he expects the Pac-12 to have a TV deal "within the next couple weeks" and that it will be "better" than the Big 12's.
"Until then, it’s all speculation and people fear-mongering."
None of us know what the PAC media rights deal will look like and we aren't completely sure that SMU will be part of the plan. But university presidents don't make these kinds of statements lightly. In the same interview he praised Big 12 basketball but asked "why would we switch conferences for a couple of million more dollars?" and that SMU is certainly a team that has been discussed re expansion. Robbins said that timing for the deal comes when there are problems in the tech industry but that he isn't worried. He did not mention meeting with Froggie Fever, but he did accuse the Big 12 consultants and the media of "fear mongering."
