VIDEO: Catching up with Teddy Knox

VIDEO: SMU wide receiver Teddy Knox met the media to discuss his second preseason camp with the Mustangs, his hiatus from and return to the team, and his impression of how quarterbacks Preston Stone and Kevin Jennings have grown since last year's camp.

"Throw the ball down field". Sounds like this WR group has added speed and will hopefully stretch the field so we might see more big plays from both the passing and running games. Hope they also block down field!

Based on what players and coaches have said, I think the plan is to throw more passes deeper downfield ... but it also feels and looks in practice like this is not going to turn into an Air Raid system, or some other system that involves throwing 90 percent of the time. The Mustangs have a talented group of running backs, and there is no reason to believe the coaches' reliance on the running game will decrease at all.

The way I put all the interviews together. SMU (we) are going to be balanced and will adjust to what the other team leaves open. We have the range of skills given the depth and RB and WR and then add on O and D line size and depth.

This season will show us just how good the coaching staff can be. The team and the staff are young, so let's enjoy this year and see what develops.
