Three former SMU players have signed as undrafted free agents:

QB Tanner Mordecai: San Francisco 49ers

DL Jordan Miller: Denver Broncos

CB Charles Woods: Los Angeles Rams

Trey Taylor, the Air Force safety who won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's top defensive back and got drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders, is the son of former SMU linebacker Tyree Taylor.

Defensive end Nelson Paul has been invited to Buffalo Bills rookie mini-camp.

Defensive lineman Elijah Chatman has received the same invitations from both the Seattle Seahawks and New York Giants.

Former SMU running back TaMerik Williams has signed as an undrafted free agent with the Seattle Seahawks

Defensive lineman DeVere Levelston has signed with the Seattle Seahawks.

Very telling that we didn't have anyone drafted this year while FSU had 10, Clemson 6 and all of our future conference mates except for Virginia Tech and Ga Tech had players drafted. Definitely need to upgrade the talent on our roster if we hope to compete. Since the draft was reduced to just 7 rounds, we've never had more than 4 guys picked in any year but we've had at least one guy picked in each of the last 4 years' drafts but now that streak has been broken. Hopefully some of the undrafted free agents make some team's roster and actually go on to play in the NFL.

We went 11-0 vs G5 teams and 0-3 against P5 teams so there's that. We're close to being competitive and will hopefully improve from last year. I'd like to think we beat BC with Stone healthy but their QB made our defense look "G5 slow" the way he ran all over us

Shocking to win a conference title and have zero players drafted. But looks like AAC had only 5 players drafted total...YIKES.
