We didn’t play very well, but we were also pretty unlucky. A couple of PI no-calls, and I’m still looking for footage of the Crossley spit. That kept a TD drive alive. That was also their last score.

How unusual to see Florida State at the bottom and SMU tied for first.

Winning ugly is decidedly better than playing well and losing.

11 penalties for 125 yards and most of those either helped kill a drive of ours or extended a drive of Nevada's. Stone started horribly and was either under throwing deep balls or throwing behind his WRs but finished that 2nd half by hitting 70% of his throws and was on the money twice to Maryland on critical deep balls. In the end, it was Nevada that made crucial mistakes (the muffed KO return and then the personal foul that gave us a shorter 2 point attempt) that allowed our guys to pull this one out. Bottom line is that it's a W and a road W to boot. Lots to learn from in week zero!

Yes, that got a coffee spray. Now I have to clean up the breakfast room table.

I was watching the ACCN and they were going over the weekend games and talking about what was not expected. Yes, GT playing a great game and then ACC showed how good football was this year.

Then a little about SMU having to come back in the 4th quarter and being in second place in the ACC. They said this is really early, but we are being talked about. Nationally!
