I wonder if Clemson and Florida State might want to back away from that "we deserve more money than the others" lawsuit.

It is beyond amusing. Curious about those ticket prices for the FST game now...

I'm waiting for Miami to file a suit claiming it deserves more than Clemson and FSU

Miami may just benefit from the "performance incentives" that SMU, Cal, and Stanford made possible. It would be great to see F$U and Klempson get none of that.

When people get all worked up and allow their selfishness to mingle with and take over their reason, they will do stupid things. Many of those stupid things last, they stick, they more new fruit that may even be more stupid than the stupid from which they came. And that process if not reversed by confession and penance can destroy.

I think the entire FSU team has gotten some kind of bug from their tanking last season because they did not get to the playoffs. They gave ups on a Major Bowl as if that were the most awful and unjust insult in history. Doing that marked themselves as quitters. That quitter feeling still overlays the team.

Who do they play next, on September 14? Memphis. Norvell's former job. A program many are talking about as having a very good chance to make the playoffs this year. Memphis is already focusing on that game more than it was before the Fall Camp opened.

My advice to Norvell: Tell your team, staff as well as players, that they need to ignore everything FSU idiots have been doing in suing the ACC, they they need to work to be the best team they can be, which means being the best team in the ACC. If you hate where you are as beneath you, you likely cannot keep your mind focused on making yourself the best you can be. Instead, you become a whiner with a sense of entitlement.

Also, NIorvell must open the QB competition right now. I assume the back up is Brock Glenn, who is from Memphis. Glenn was a 4* who committed first to Ohio St. If Glenn is sitting still while DJ again sucks it up against Memphis, Memphis players will have aided day off taunting not just FSU players but also the FSU coaches. And they will constantly yell at Glenn to return home.

Can't we just buy FSU and put an end to this nonsense.

Paying these clowns to stay was always the only path to keeping the conference together.

This is a major victory for us as well as the bottom half of the conference who have no definitive landing spot.

This gives us 5 years to try and win and prove we are good enough to buy our way into the P2 when it is formed.

Agreed and yet it seemed so unlikely to be worked out. Fingers crossed; no deal is inked yet.

Read that this whole settlement has been proposed by Clemson and FSU.

Makes you think that they're not confident in their legal suits.

As long as the details position SMU to be included in the next round of realignment you'd think we'd be in favor.

Clemson & FSU are yes votes
UNC & Duke will make additional cash due to Basketball ratings
Outside of Miami who has not shown the desire to depart, not sure any other university votes no as it’s in each of those school’s best interest to keep the ACC together.

Most importantly, ESPN wants this so they don’t lose these two properties to Fox.

Holding breath until it’s done but it makes too much sense for every player in this scenario for it not to happen in some capacity.

If the these divas were to win, then what is to prevent Big XII divas from kicking out their bottom dwellers. Vandy and Northwestern would be looking at a gun pointed in their direction along with half of the B1G (NE, IA, PU, MN, IN, MD, RU). And SEC divas may want to jettison, KY, SC, MSU, Auburn, A&M (now that they have UT). I think Fox, CBS, ESPN, ABC, and others simply don't want to risk seeing the GOR voided. They like stability and predictability. It's okay in little pieces, but voiding the GOR opens the door for everyone to make new deals that may or may not be enforceable and lead to all sorts of mayhem.
Last I heard though the most scary thing for Clemson and FSU is that the SEC and B1G don't want them. They consider them to be undependable partners. Translation, South Carolina and Florida and probably Vandy will be dropping black balls on them in the SEC and they are not academically good enough for the B1G.

Fans of Wake, BC, and Syracuse are adamantly opposed to any revenue granted for higher TV numbers. That is because they cannot deliver them - they drag down ACC TV numbers the most. Doos's are as low, but Dook TV numbers for basketball are massive, often slightly higher than UNC's.

Duke's football TV numbers last year were excellent. (Yes, games against Clemson and Notre Dame on ABC/ESPN helped but are not the entire story, either.)

I think SMU, Stanford and Cal need to push this a bit. We put lots of money on the table for you guys, now get a deal done. Put in a revenue enhancement model for all this money on the table about $400 Million or $44 Million per year. $5 Million for each participant in the Championship. $10 Million each for 2 schools with highest TV ratings in football. $4 Million each to top 3 tv ratings in basketball. Remaining divided for top TV ratings in other sports combined (baseball, soccer, volleyball, womens sports, etc.).
