SMU Celebrates $1 Million Commitment From The Shaddock Family To Name The Shaddock Family Auditorium Within The Weber End Zone Complex
DALLAS (SMU) – The SMU Athletics Department is proud to announce a generous $1 million commitment from the Shaddock Family in support of the Weber End Zone Complex. Members of the Shaddock Family include Kim and William Shaddock M.B.A. '74, Kaitlin '07 and William Shaddock, Jr. '06, Lisa '11 and Andrew Shaddock '09, M.B.A.'13, and Caroline Shaddock '12. This remarkable contribution will name the football team auditorium, a vital space for team meetings, film study, guest speakers and strategic planning.
The 192,500 square foot Weber End Zone Complex is an important project aimed at enhancing the facilities for the Mustang football program in preparation for its first season in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). With state-of-the-art amenities, the complex will provide athletes with an environment conducive to training and development, furthering SMU's commitment to excellence in football. Furthermore, the spaces formerly inhabited by football in the Loyd All-Sports Complex will be repurposed to impact all 17 varsity programs.
"We are deeply grateful to the Shaddock Family for their continued generosity and unwavering support of SMU," said Rick Hart, SMU Director of Athletics. "Their commitment to naming the football team auditorium within the Weber End Zone Complex is a testament to their dedication to our student-athletes and the future of SMU Athletics."
The Shaddock Family's philanthropy extends across the SMU campus. In 2021, the family made a $6 million commitment to the Cox School of Business, supporting its renovation and expansion project. Their ongoing contributions have played a crucial role in advancing the university's mission and enhancing the educational experience for all students.
"SMU is a special place to the Shaddock Family, and we are honored to support the Weber End Zone Complex," said Bill Shaddock. "We believe in the vision of SMU Athletics and are excited to contribute to the future success of the Mustang football program and SMU's triumphant entry into the ACC."
As the Weber End Zone Complex project progresses, the SMU community remains dedicated to providing top-tier facilities for its athletes. Additional support from alumni, friends, and supporters is vital to bringing this vision to life. Naming opportunities within the complex offer a unique chance to leave a lasting legacy at SMU.
