Quarterbacks as Coaches & Relationship With Their QB’s

This entire QB dance got me thinking…do quarterbacks make good coaches?, and do they typically have a solid relationship(happy) with their QB, and do they develop Qb’s? NFL - Kubiak, Garrett, Spurier, June were not great NFL coaches. At SMU, ex Geo QB Cavan never fully developed a QB as Saunders and McGown were only serviceable before they cut Mike loose..ex QB phenom Jones seemed to have issues with Bo Levi and Padron, both of whom left to end up with a D-1a title in Bo’s case, and a semi appearance with Kyle at the healm - Bo ends up winning 2 CFL Grey Cups. I think those dudes had some skills? What happened with them and June? Now ex QB Rhett is at the controls and we have a qB controversy. Uncertainty and indecision seems to be his quarterback m o - not traits you want in a qB or a coach. I would not be surprised if Preston ends up pulling a Bo Nix 2.0 or a quasi Bo Levi emergence - remember, btw, Bo’s coach at Auburn, Harsin, was an ex QB. Spurrier had success, no doubt, at FL, but besides Matthews and Weufel, early, seemed to shuffle a bunch of signal callers through there after those two guys left. Just scatter shooting on a boring WED, as I try to embrace our Woody Hayes disciple, Rhett L, great D and a strong field goal kicker…another 16-13 game, Alice.
