The school is actually getting about 10 million more per year than before. Just keep winning.

I know a lot of Duke and UNC alumni, and pretty much all of them look at SMU as something just above "bottom-feeders". I get it -- we had to buy our way in after being bad to mediocre for the last 35 years. But, that just makes the football ass-kicking we will be giving MOST OF them over the next few years that much sweeter.

I've never liked the phrase that we've had to "buy our way in," I feel like it's the opposite. Instead of having to suckle on the teat of the conference welfare system, we stood up and said we can pay our own way, not be subsidized by others. And yes, we still come out ahead of our income last year!

At least it sounds better to me.... in my mind....

PS: I love the meme

Um, hi; I’m *right* here. (Kidding. Sorta.)

I do buy that about Ewe In Sea. Duke isn’t good enough for them either. But there are historic and numerous ties between Duke and SMU a d those particular Devils should be boxed about the ears.
