We earned a tie, and then the football god smiled down on us multiple times. Kinda like TCU a couple of years ago.

Didn’t feel like we even earned a tie.
But after all the times we have snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, I'll take it.

I thought Duke really brought their A game. Probably the best they’ve played all season. They wanted that W really bad - their fans assumed that they would be ranked if they won. So when you go into hostile territory against a good team that really wants to win, you’ve earned that W regardless of what it looks like.

Which TCU game are you talking about?

I’m talking about TCU’s football god blessed season 2 years ago.

Has another team ever had a minus 6 turnover margin and won?

Great defensive stops. Special teams blocked FG.

Rhett couldn’t trust KJ to throw down the stretch. Smith had gutty runs with 26 rushes and 117 yards. Besides KJ, LJ had second most rushes with eight.

Daniels made sure he got in the endzone that second time. Def a highlight.

Hibner with four catches which is more than the three he had at Michigan in 20 something games.

I disagree with the title of this thread, because I think our defense earned the win.

As I mentioned elsewhere, this game was needlessly close. We had the ball on their 1 and 4 and got no points. Even one field goal and we win without any stress. Score twice and we cruise to win #7. Duke's front 7 played quite well at times - although facemask could have been called several more times last night.

My concerns are that we seem to get predictable deep in the Red Zone, and had little OL push. We've got the beef, and the talent to score every time we are inside the 5. Get creative, or determined to put the ball in the EZ.

Was there any thought to letting Stone come in after Jennings was hurt? He clearly was not playing his best. You have two starting QBs, why not use the 2nd in that spot?

Defense. God Bless them. Although they did not score, or get a TO, they won the game. The blocked FG is another legendary play in SMUs history, and that image of an SMU player leaping over the line will stay with me for years.

Rhett has made it abundantly clear - we have only one starting QB and that is Kevin Jennings and that he (Rhett) does not want to have a QB Controversy

Well, the other team certainly didn't earn the win (failure to capitalize on any of the 6 gifts). So, I guess that leaves us.
