Yes, 17 penalties for 137 yards! Many unsportsmanlike penalties which is the ultimate selfish penalty.
This kind of play will not get it done next week or any week going forward.
This has been a recurring theme with SMU play this year. We are lucky we were playing an opponent we easily out classed. We will not have that luxury next week.

Several of the penalties were half-the-distance penalties. So we could have had another 20-30 yards worth if they had taken place on a different part of the field.

They embarrassed themselves, their coaches and their fans - a no class, low class performance, if there ever was one. Grand standing thugs. And don’t think that the Clemson coaching staff won’t see this and exploit it next Saturday.

You’re correct and I saw quite a few of our guys called for unsportsmanlike penalties complaining that a Cal player “started it.” That doesn’t matter or excuse anything, of course. Nice to get the reminder to knock it off in a 32-point blowout, at least.

We are not supposed to be here. We have been slighted all year long.
Deal with it. Man up and clean the guys clock on the next play.
But he started it... that ended in 7th grade.
