Interestingly, there are rumors swirling around Durham that Duke offered Maalik an adjusted (lowered) NIL plan for 2025, and expected that he would decline and they were ready to move on Mensah immediately, which obviously Manny did and then landed him.

Duke plays at Tulane in almost exactly nine months, by the way.

Let's wait and see. I just heard that UNC is planning to increase its NIL package for football from $4mil to $20mil. Apparently they are getting serious. And I heard Belichick give his prospective sales pitch to recruits, and I have to say it didn't suck. "I will prepare you for life in the NFL and life after the NFL" was the basic gist. I'll see if I can find the interview.

$20M isn’t enough in football, and it comes at the expense of basketball, where Hubert is already rumored to be complaining that he doesn’t have the NIL backing that he needs. I would be gutted over this hire if it were Duke. He’s an elderly, difficult, sour person whose players disliked him when they had zero choice but to play. This will definitely go badly.
