Several players, like linebacker Alex Kilgore and guard Logan Parr, have taken to social media to announce that they are "locked in" and staying at SMU.
Sign of the times in this, the era of the transfer portal.

Lashlee commented this is a tough time of year with focus on the CFP while dealing with the transfer portal and teams trying to poach our roster. College athletics has really become the wild, wild west!

A lot of coaches have touched on this. The system, as it is currently set up, significantly penalizes programs that are good enough to play in conference title games and the CFP.

More important than ever to lock down key returning players because there are going to be lots of holes to fill with all the guys who exhausted their eligibility this year. Hopefully every senior who still has a year of eligibility will be returning.
