Ahead of Texas Tech, TCU, Baylor and directly behind ... wait for the irony:

Florida State: 17,475,000 viewers
SMU: 16,676,000 viewers

That would put us at #31 overall and #5 in the ACC.

Surely those numbers are pumped up by the championship game and CFB playoff, but regardless, that's what success gets you.

And UNC is not on the list yet they act like divas. FSU is barely ahead of us and they act like divas. GT, and the U ought to be the one's crowing. (I suspect GT's numbers were bolstered by the prime time 8 OT game with Georgia). It also boils down to time slots as well. We didn't get an ABC or ESPN prime time slot, just noon and 3 p.m. slots until the championship game. And our Penn State game was in the noon slot.

When you spend many years, decades, refusing to take football seriously and remaining happy with occasional bowl appearances, fans of the game will accept that you are not serious and they will not watch. UNC's last ACC championship was 1980.

Astounding...similar then to our 40 years of wandering in the football desert.
