" He was voted the Texas 5A Offensive Player of the Year as a senior at Flower Mound Marcus High in 1995, passing for 4,284 yards and 41 touchdowns. He went to SMU for two years, but didn’t feel he would ever get the opportunity to throw the ball with the Mustangs, so he transferred to UT-Chattanooga, where he flourished in a more pro-style offense.


This is the first time Sanders has been able to claim a team as his own since his senior year at UT-Chattanooga, where he was a Division I-AA All-America and a member of the school’s all-century team after setting records there for passing yards (7,230), touchdowns (49), completions (584), 200-yard passing games (22), 300-yard passing games (12) and total offense (7,247).
