I think preseason polls are b--- s---. I wouldn't put any weight on what West Coast, no one cares about your college football coverage FOX says. That's why we play the games.

king_k is dead-on -- preseason polls are meaningless. After all, there were some touting Texas at #1 before last season, and I would imagine there are precious few who predicted Miami of Ohio would be anywhere near as good as they were. They all knew about Rothlisberger, but that was a damn good team last year. There are some polls out already, and I saw one that had USC ranked 11th. HOW? They lost some talented guys, to be sure, but the guys who are returning look like an NFL roster (OK, a CFL roster). The polls start to gain meaning in mid- to late-September at the earliest.

I'm OK with their choice of Timmy Chang as player of the year, though. He's really talented and playing in an offense that suits his skills perfectly.

Then again, I think Foy Munlin will have a sensational year. I'm not saying we'll win the WAC or anything, but if he puts up 1,500-plus yards and a bunch of touchdowns, and his performance puts us in the middle of the WAC pack, he should get some votes, too.

You can't blame them. Even if we double our conference wins this season we'll probably still finish last.

If we doubled our wins from this past season theres no doubt we would end up at last place cause it would be our 2nd straight season with no wins.

We better not do that!

Polls mean squat to me.

Since I've been watching the Ponies, it seems that nearly every prediction is wrong - which means that if we're picked to finish last, I hope the "experts" continue their trend of missing on predictions. I like what I read about the new talent and the new coaches. Baby steps this year .... big leaps next year?
