The final table for the World Series of Poker is set and starts today at Noon, Vegas time. A Mustang will be sitting at the table with the World's best Texas Hold 'Em players:

SEAT 8: David Anthony Williams
Chip Count: $1,575,000
David Williams is the youngest player at today's final table. His 24th birthday comes up in just two weeks. Williams currently lives in Dallas, Texas and is currently a student at S.M.U. where he's majoring in math and economics. He started playing poker seven years ago. Interestingly, Williams credits "The Flying Dutchman" -- Marcel Luske -- as the player who helped him most with his game. Last night past midnight, Luske busted out tenth in this event. About his future, Williams says, "I never want to have a boss. I will open my own business - if poker doesn't work out." Williams credits his mother who is here with him today -- who is very supportive of his decision to play poker.

Congrats to David Williams!! A great showing by a Mustang!! Not to mention $3.5 million in prize money. Pretty good ROI on a $10k investment.
In the final hand, Williams was heads-up against Greg Raymer.
Williams was delt Ah 4s and Raymer was delt Pocket 8's (a Michael Irvin, some people would call it). Raymer called the big blind (Williams) and Williams raised $300k. Raymer called.
The Flop came out 5s, 4d, 2d
Raymer checked, Williams bet $500k, Raymer raised to $1.6 million. Williams, sitting on second pair with an Ace kicker, and also on a straight draw (just needing a 3 to make his straight), called Raymer's raise.
Turn card came out 2h
Raymer, with a two pair (8's and 2's) bet $2.5 million. Williams, with his bottom two pair (4's and 2's) and still on his straight draw, immediately called Raymer's bet.
River card came out 2c
Raymer went All-In. Williams called. Raymer wins with a Full House - 2's full of 8's and beats Williams Full House - 2's full of 4's.
******
Great run David Williams!!! That's a bad beat, losing the WSOP World Championship when you are heads-up with a Full House, and you lose to a better Full House.
You are welcome to sit at my poker table on the Boulevard anytime. It would be an honor to play with somebody who made the final table and the #2 chair at the WSOP!

btw- you can watch David Williams' run to his second place finish in the WSOP starting on July 6 on ESPN.
