Anyone know where the old SMU AD is these days? What's he doing?

You might want to check Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Rumor has it that Doug is still at Pat O'Brien's sucking down Hurricanes. he's been there since I last saw him in 1990. man was he blitzed!

the original creator of the "....we don't have to worry about recruiting -all we need to do is recruit 1-2 superstars each year and surround them with a a solid cast and a good coaching staff theory..." 15 years later I'm still waiting on the Coach and superstar willing to sign with a school with such low expectations who can lead SMU to glory under those circumstances. It is this philosophy that permeates so many SMU fans that I find so nauseating. You either compete with your rivals at all aspects and in all areas of a program or you get your butt kicked in for 15 years in a row.

Jeez, where would we be without encouraging fans like you? Thank goodness you're here to offer encouragement. Not asking for blind optimism, but could you be just a little more negative? I need just a bit more of a push to go find a high bridge...

Stallion has it right guys and dolls. SMU from 1988 on has hurt/punished it's self way more than the NCAA.
Yes, the model was wrong and to me the model is STILL WRONG. It is much better today than just three to five years ago but we still are not on a level playing field.
We have great facilities, good coaches and fantastic looking coeds. SMU is on a better road but Stallion is right... the road still needs to be upgraded.
Stallion - I think he just gets pounded reading the same subject posted. Give him a SUNSHINE post some day. I have seen you do that too.
