I think this is a good poll question.

I also like your screen name, especially in light of the UT baseball team's shameless performance in the CWS (hey, I live amid this swamp of burned orange. More often than not, it's nauseating.)

Lotus - I'm down here as well & would say the swamp gas is always nauseating.

This poll is flawed--it assumes there will be a win in 2004, when SMU has not had one of those since the 2002 season.

the posters are flawed because about 1/2 of them think we have the talent to beat Tech or TCU.

Hey, ease up wolfman--I think maybe we can win a game or two. But then again I thought so last year too.

Now I agree that Tech will have more talent than we have, but no more or less than they did 2 years ago when we almost snuck one from them.......I still can't believe we couldn't score on the goal line. Any who, we almost got them 2 years ago, so there is no reason we couldn't sneak up on them next year.
Gotta believe, probably shouldn't but I can't help it......go ponies.

If games were won/lost just based on raw talent and nothing else, UT and Mack Brown would win the National Championship every year.

I think we will be big dogs to TT and TCU, but there is a reason the games are played.

Other could also mean that we do not get a win in 2004. Give me a break. The system only lets me have a limited number of poll options. The original poll had all the games and no wins.

Don't take it personally, Iaccelerateforlonghorns: there are certain posters on this board who you'll find are negative about everything and relish in every chance to put down supportive fans. Ignore them. Yours is a good poll, and gives us something SMU-related to discuss in the offseason. Glad to have you on PonyFans.com.

No offense, man, but your question asks about the "first win" -- that assumes something. You and I both know by "other" you meant the first win would be against a team not mentioned specifically. I was just reminded how, if you'd asked that question this time last year, it would have been impossible to answer correctly, that's all. However, since you asked nicely, I'll give you a break.

You're right. I'm a homer of homers. I was assuming we would win a game. And I would just about bet my life on it. Thanks for the break.
