Some interesting tidbits in that article:
- Their list of the top 10 players is intriguing. Lee and Humphrey listed ahead of Foy Munlin? I like the pick of Desmond Jones - I really liked his performance last year, and see a bigger, faster Alex Pahulu there. - Call me an optimist, but we're winning more than one game this year. We'll beat San Jose, Rice, maybe LaTech, Nevada and UTEP. Last year, every bounce/break/ref's call that could go against us did - such is the life of such an extremely young team. With a little luck on our side this year, we win a few that we lost last year. Five wins might be high - give me any three of the games listed above. - They talk about how Phillips came on at the end of last year, and gives the offense hope for the future. Then they tout Jerad Romo (but not Tony Eckert?) as an "instant impact" newcomer. Nutty. Wonder who they talked to to get their information. I would think both JUCOs will be given a chance to compete in August for the job. I also think this was written/published by someone who never has seen the team play or practice. Must have been edited/published by Dave Campbell, slave to accuracy that he is. - Most glaring numbers on the page: sack differential - 41 for opponents, 12 for Ponies. That has to change. As does the number of fumbles generated by our defense: 8 (only 3 recoveries by our defense).
Yeah, at one point they tout Romo and elsewhere they tout Eckert. Wild.
None the less, not too bad coverage for the #112 from last season. Go Ponies!!
Beat whoever it is we are playing!! @PonyGrad
