Transfers/JUCOs

Say what you will about the academic implications, but accepting transfers from other schools and JUCO players is one way to accelerate the building of a program, since by doing so, a team adds instant maturity, experience and strength. I read here that SMU grabbed a few JUCOs this year (the big WR and two QBs, and I think I read that there's another WR -- a walk-on) .... does anyone know if the coaches plan to go that route again?

Seems to me that while the young players mature, adding proven JUCO talent (assuming the academics are in line) would be a way to take a big step forward in the re-building process (see Tulsa last year).

True, but it's all about finding JUCOs with enough credit hours that transfer to SMU -- easier said than done. But it does seem like progress is being made in that area, so maybe that will improve. I've never been one for a KState-like class of half HS guys and half JUCOs, but I think that while the team is still building and the boatload of young guys matures, a couple of JUCOs might be a huge benefit to the team.
