BUS University

There was a post here recently talking about studying at "BUS University," and I think I've enrolled. I'm still unwilling to come down from the euphoria I've enjoyed since the win over the toads, but I'm concerned about the lines of scrimmage. I realize that's no breaking news, and several of the guys (the starting four on defense, most of the starters on offense) played pretty well, overall. But in the first quarter, the frogs were in our backfield on every other play. When Martin started running, that changed, in part because they had to change their defensive approach to deal with him. More importantly, however, we made it through last year using basically 7 or 8 offensive linemen .... to hope that we stay that healthy every year simply is unrealistic -- we definitely need more depth. So, with that said, and assuming standard graduation/attrition allows for a full or close-to-full class, I'd like to see the coaches sign 6 or 7 OLs and 5 or 6 DLs.

40 % of every recruiting class should be big men. I will give in that, some may not be huge when they sign but will become big after a red-shirt year. Others may be too big and need to slimmed down and made faster during a red-shirt year.

Some will fail out, others will get injured, some will not reach their goal but most will end up to be good players. We need to be three deep at every line position. PERIOD.

Given a recruiting class of 25.... 10 should be BIG MEN.
