Harvard has 4, three stars committed right now so they do a decent job recruiting nationally. Several CUSA and MWC schools have inquired through HP coaches and the coaches have basically told them that Mitchell would really not be interested in their schools. Probably too honest of an approach if you care about collecting offers but that’s the way the HP coaches roll. If you know or have been around Randy Allen, you would not be surprised, he shoots straight, very straight. Coach Morris was at our house recently. Great great guy, I am happy to have Mitchell play for him. Same with Coach McDaniel, fabulous guy. Hopefully Mitchell can make a big contribution on and off the field for them.

Hoop, you seem like a super guy and a great Mustang supporter and I look forward to meeting you one day. I would consider steering clear of topics on your son, though. By most accounts he seems like a smart young man with some decent football success. However, for some (many?) on this board he'll be associated with a failed era (June), considered a 2* recruit with zero quality football offers, and grouped with the kids Coach Morris "had to honor" (whether that is true or not). Unless Mitchell just crushes it on the field you'll likely either turn into a helicopter dad or go insane from all the negative comments. Just know it isn't personal as we all just want SMU to be successful, even if we have different ideas on how to approach building the program. Just my unsolicited two cents.

As a HP guy who saw a lot of HP guys play well for our greatest teams of the 80s, I am not worried that any HP kid will do well with us regardless of offers. We prob need a few more - offers or not.

The TLDR of that is DONT BE FOOTBALLDAD

cox, cut me a small amount of slack. i have been around this board for a long time and some people have expressed interest. Mitchell does not tweet about recruiting at all, so i don't think Harvard and Yale offers were reported anywhere else, was just noting it for the list if the author cared to list it.

Just my two cents and worth what you paid (maybe less). Every SMU fan that posts on this board will agree that we hope he's successful on and off the field.
