He apparently "mass-mailed every FBS school in the country" with no luck. The bit about all interest dropping off after a while was strange too. I wouldn't be surprised if there's something more to the story.

If that is the story, then it stinks for the kid. Hopefully he can at least get a preferred walk-on that he can then parlay into a scholarship.

Well, it could have been worse...he could have only gotten one offer...from UAB.

His dad was a D1 WR and later was a D2 All-American. Mom was an athlete in college as well.

The d1 players from nm haven't been bad either.

Landry Jones
Urlacher
Some guy at Nebraska I can't remember
A TE at Miami

Just not a bunch

Where is JJ?

This is exactly his type of recruit. I am surprised SMU did not offer.

This is getting traction, thanks to the bleacher report story. I know the alumni group for the Academy just sent it in requesting info on him. [deleted], good grades and an arm not made of spaghetti...West Point should be beating this kids door down.

If I was the kid and had a legit 4.0 I would have been calling Ivy League coaches myself.

Hope it works out for him.
