New JUCO QB Brett Hyatt Prospectno height and weight-found on Ole Miss Rivals board-went 22-1 at Jones HS in Mississippi and 11-7 at Jones JC(Miss), South MVP at Mississippii JC All-Star Game. Full qualifier out of High School-4.2 GPA and 20 ACT- last year in only 7 games threw for over 1,500 yards and 63%. As a Senior at Jones HS threw for over 1700 yards and 22 TDs. Seems like a fallback option for Ole Miss due to their extreme QB shortage as no official visits or offers have been made. Interested in Ole Miss, SMU and Western Michigan.

Three players listed as quarterback will vie for a position that saw five Mocs line up behind center in 2003. Brett Hyatt, 6-2 from Laurel, Miss.; Desmond Mosby, 5-11 from Atlanta and Ferlando Williams, 6-1 of Warner-Robbins, Ga., could figure in the mix at that position. QB Hyatt engineers comeback By Bill Spencer [email protected] MADISON — Quarterback Brett Hyatt of West Jones and his South teammates didn't exactly get off to a rousing start in Friday night's 55th annual Bernard Blackwell All-Star Football Classic. Barely 4 minutes into the action, Hyatt and the South were staring at a 10-0 deficit on Madison Central's Jaguar Stadium scoreboard. Not to worry. Hyatt completed 7 of 11 passes for 95 yards to earn Offensive MVP honors as the South gutted out a 14-13 victory before an estimated 2,500. Running back Gabriel Fairman of Petal scored on a 3-yard touchdown run and kicker Andrew Gambrell of Meridian added the decisive PAT with 10 minutes, 17 seconds remaining as the South extended its series lead to 25-22-4 under the current format. When running back Lavarus Giles of Ray Brooks sprinted for a dazzling 70-yard touchdown on the game's first play from scrimmage and kicker Robert Bass of Pontotoc added a 28-yard field goal a few minutes later, the North led 10-0 with 7:44 to play in the first quarter. Hyatt, who's bound for Tennessee-Chattanooga, wasn't overly concerned. "We never doubted ourselves," said the 6-foot-3, 195-pound Hyatt, who passed for 2,064 yards and 24 touchdowns as a senior. "We never hung our heads. We were like, 'We're going to get back in this thing.' We never gave up and we hung in there." The South's game-winning drive covered only 27 yards following a 22-yard punt on the final play of the third quarter. On third-and-4 from the North 21, Hyatt hooked up with wide receiver Darrell Williams of George County for 18 yards to the North 3 before Fairman powered into the end zone, completing a four-play march. "Brett hung in there," South coach Jeff Breland of Newton County said. "He got hit, he got knocked down, but he had some big third-down conversions. He's a winner. He's got a bright future ahead of him. I wish him the best. "Darrell Williams is a big-time player. He's an athlete who may play on Sundays. Our defense bent, but we made some big plays." Breland pointed to the South's first touchdown as vital to getting his team back in the contest. Hyatt directed a 71-yard, 13-play drive and running back Tony Miner of Jim Hill darted for a 2-yard score with 1:01 left in the first quarter. Gambrell's PAT made it 10-7. "I think the key to it was that we got down 10-0, but we came back and got some third-down conversions on that drive and we got us a score," Breland said. "That was critical. "We just preached on doing our thing, getting controlled, sustained drives. Brett made some big throws on third down. "I tell you what, it's pretty special to get the opportunity to coach athletes like we had this week. Not only are they great athletes, they're also great people. Kids don't get to hear that often enough." The North took a 13-7 lead on Bass' 31-yard field goal with 3:51 before halftime yet couldn't make it stand up. Linebacker Marcellus Speaks of Provine and defensive end Isaac Bryant of Pearl sparkled for the North. Speaks, a Delta State recruit, was named Defensive MVP. Bryant, a Hinds Community College signee, won the Bill Stewart Award. "The South just kept fighting until they got the momentum back," North coach Danny Robertson of Durant said. "They never gave up and got things swinging back their way."
So if he redshirted at Chattanooga and then transferred to JC , how many years would he have left? What if he played at Chattanooga and then transferred to JC? Under either scenario, would his one year at JC count as his year off under the transfer rules. I assume that Chattanooga is Div. I
