Saw a couple of guys at the game yesterday. I remember two of them, but don't know much about either.
RB/WR/CB/S/KR/PR Marcus Curry
Lewisville (Hebron), Texas
Coming into this season, he was listed at 5'10" and 175. Found a reported 4.54 in the 40, and a 30-inch vertical jump. 3.2 GPA
Haven't found season stats for him, but did find a report on last year and one game this year:
In 2005:
66 rushes, 528 rush yds, 8 TD
8 rec., 213 yds, 2 TD
18 returns, 619 yds, 2 TD
longest return: 99 yds
1,360 all-purpose yards, 13 TDs
Also found this on a DMN blog from a couple of weeks ago:
Senior running back Marcus Curry, who didn't even play in the game against Carrollton Creekview a few weeks ago, had 25 carries for 194 yards and three touchdowns (in a win over Coppell), including a 40-yard scoring run to seal the win.
DE/OL Decarlas Lue
Came into the season listed at 6'2" and 235.
Haven't found any 40 times, lifting numbers or statistics.
Rise up, Mustang Nation!
Go SMU!

Marcus Curry did not play varsity in 2005, those stats are from his JV competition as a JR. He did have that great game a few weeks ago and for the season is 61 att 395 yds 7 tds.

I'm glad that we have an interest in him. I read the DMN on this guy in the highschool section of the DMN and was hoping that we were at least considering him!

Couldn't catch anyof their names but I was walking behind four Southlake Carrol players...one had a patch as an All-state (possibly all-conference) LB

The Ford twins were there along with DE Bryce Saldi. Arius Ford has an offer from Cougar High.

According to Rivals, Arius (DB) is a couple of inches taller than Anthony (WR).
Anyone know how good they are?

Very solid. But Anthony's height scares everybody. 5-8. Arius can play. But does he have the closing speed? Cougar High thought so.
This isn't the best group of seniors Carroll has this year. Their 2008 group should be much better.

That's okay. The more recruits we have from that school, the better our chances of landing some of the top recruits later!

I don't think it works that way. Generally the top recruits draw others not the other way around.

Agreed. It seems to me that if you're a superior HS athlete, and SMU gives someone you know to be a lesser player a scholarship, you would want to go somewhere better - just to keep the ratio.
