although its not reflected in Rivals I think I saw a local story on Blinn JC's National Championship that SMU might be in the mix. Guidry is 6-7, 230 and QBed Blinn to an undefeated season. However, his Coach Brad Franchione calls him "the best kept secret in the Country'. Rivals reported today however, that right now only SFA and Northwestern State of Louisiana are recruiting Guidry. Might be a consideration if Slater transfers otherwise SMU might be better off going young.

Shades of Dan McGwire? He sucked with the Seahawks, but he was pretty damn effective at San Diego State.

McGwire was the guy they called "sack-proof" in college, right? I'd have to agree, some teams would have to just scrap the safety blitz from their defensive packages .... kind of the "bug on a windshield" effect.
