Fast JUCO linebacker

According to Rivals, SMU is now interested in LB Erikk Brooks from College of the Sequoias, the same school that produced DT Serge Elizee and WR Abner Brown -- another SMU prospect, according to published reports. Rivals has him listed at 6-2, 235, 4.5. The only other school is Syracuse -- no offer listed yet by either school.

that info has been in the Rivals database for several weeks-unless they have a new report I highly doubt that the info is still accurate or he would have signed on the JUCO signing date.

Forget Erikk...give me his teammates Brian Ellis and Woodny Turenne!!!

Both of which have not signed LOI despite it being past Juco signing days...

if they haven't signed by now most likely they have to graduate from JUCO to be eligible-the signing date in December was for mid term transfers who would be eligible to participate in spring drills. The signing date for the second category is the February signing date. We don't go after too many second term JUCOs although Haywood might have been one-not sure.

Haywood was a second-semester guy, I think.

I would assume that if we do sign a few JUCOS on the February date that it would signal a bit more loosening of the standards. It will be interesting to see.
