Anybody surprised by this?

Last weekend, Pete Carroll was on vacation in Costa Rica. Is this really a good time for a vacation? Doesn't he have some recruiting duties?

I can't imagine it's hard to recruit to that program in the state it's currently in. Something like:

* Walk into the office
* Turn on the lights
* Start answering calls from blue-chip guys
* Pick and choose

Besides, I would bet (some of the rivals afficionados can verify), I would assume that in this age of early commitments, didn't they have their class largely full weeks/months ago?
