Postby originaloverthehilltop1 » Wed Jun 27, 2007 6:35 am

smu women's tennis has announced two transfers from SEC schools, doesn't say anything about them sitting out a year. look like good players, gotta be scholarships, how is that possible?

and while we are at it, can somebody give us an update on how our tennis programs are fairing these days? i am old enough to remember the early 70s teams that were ranked in the top ten on a regular basis.

Look at the other sports page. Both teams failed to make the NCAA's for the first time in years.

no sitting out. both played alot at the #2 positions and should fit into the lineup well with the #s 1,3, 4, 5 & 7 returning off a very young team.

The only sports you have to sit out a year for Division I-A are football, basketball (men's and women's) and men's ice hockey. If you transfer more than once or to/from other divisions, additional rules apply.

That was stunning that they didn't make it. That's not what this program is usually capable of.

But keep an eye on our sophomore Pavi Francis, who came from Flower Mound Marcus. She handled her self pretty well in her fr. year. I looked at her numbers and think she went 24-9 between the fall and spring.

She won 5A girls state championships from 04-06 and had some incredible record.
