Found this on the MWC board-I assume its accurate
TCU has picked up a basketball transfer from University of Minnesota, his name is Brandon Smith and he is a 6-6 shooting guard from Minneapolis, MN. He was forced to play power forward at Minnesota due to their lack of depth down low, but his natural position is guard. He left Minnesota before the start of this basketball season, so he should be eligible to play for the frogs next season.
Out of high school he was a 3 star propsect with offers from Minnesota, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Purdue, Stanford, UCLA, Wisconsin, Dayton, Iowa State, and Marquette.
It appears as if this kid has had his share of troubles, he only played in 3 games his senior year of high school before leaving the team. His freshman year at Minnesota he was ruled academically ineligible for the second semester and missed 18 games, his sophomore year he started 11 games but also picked up a 2 week suspension last december for a violation of team rules. This sounds like a pretty big gamble by Neil Dougherty, who has already had his fair share of bad apples that he brought into the program.
