Anyone think we have a shot at this fella? Seems to have size and speed to play at a couple of positions. Scout shows an SMU offer and Interest, however Rivals doesn't have SMU on his board.

If Scout is correct, he currently only has offers from Baylor and Us. One of the scout.com stories mentions that he has 12 offers, and it seems that if Nebraska offers, he'll be gone.

Brown would love an offer from TAMU but looks highly unlikely he will get it. He visited Nebraska this weekend and waiting to hear how it went. If not those 2 he probably goes to TCU. His coach has a son at TCU and they are close to Brown.

yeah I think Rivals dropped the ball with this kid. Either that or there is something not readily apparent like an injury or academics.

Updated today-there are academic issues with regard to the ACT he says(actually since its a sliding scale both GPA and SAT/ACT are relevant-I guess he means he's OK on the core courses. Just returned from Nebraska and gave visit a 10 but no commitment. Mentioned he had seen SMU's facilities and others but they weren't close to Nebraska. No mention of remaining interest in SMU. Wants to visit A&M next weekend and TCU on the following weekend.

this guy sounds like a steal if we could get him. 4.53 in the 40? Hell, drop 10 lbs off him and put him at middle linebacker. Linebackers are definately our weakest position. Although he was Defensive MVP for us, I am still very unimpressed with Bonilla. We need some punishers on the defense, not to mention some LB's with the wheels to drop into coverage

We might increase our chances when we hire a DC, or at least as the staff starts to come together.

I hear there are several coaches already in place - and hitting the phones - who just haven't been announced yet. Don't think the staff is complete, but I don't think we're still sitting at three guys, either.

Anyone know if Eddie Brown came for a visit this weekend or plans to next weekend? Anyone know if he still has any interest in SMU? It would nice to land this guy.
