Recruiting Rankings and On Field SuccessThis is an analysis of BCS schools' recruiting and their records vs other BCS schools. Very interesting read for those of you that would be willing to spend a few minues. For those that are too lazy, there is a strong statistical correlation between recruiting ranking and eventual record on the BCS level.

I beat you by 1 minute. A real sceintific method would be to somehow weight the value of a particular class over a 4-5 year period. For example, a great senior class is most definitely going to play a bigger part in a great season than freshman most of which are redshirted. Note that Notre Dame's best classes are generally in the last 2 years but many of those recruits haven't hit the field or are inexperienced. Most of The NDs earlier classes were NOT THAT GREAT. As I mentioned after UT lost to OU-UTs recruiting classes ARE NOT THAT GREAT lately in comparison to OU. Another big problem is that the creme of the crop leaves for the NFL every year now. So when UT loses Vince Young they are not as unbeatable. The NFL factor is now one of my working hypothesises on why this was such as surprising, upset filled season-the top recruiting teams are coming back to the pack based on attrition.
I believe over 50 underclassmen have declared for this years' NFL draft.
