Interesting GPA/SAT Case Study from a Top Recruit

Postby Stallion » Tue Jan 22, 2008 10:58 pm

Victor Johnson probably going to OU or OSU. Not considering SMU but I posted it because although its extreme its not totally unusual. He reports a 3.7 core GPA and a 720 SAT, which he is retaking on Jan. 26. Either he has a learning disability or the Waco schools are awful. Maybe he took the SAT on a Saturday morning after a big football game and simply slept through half the test. You really wonder what kind of education some of these inner school kids are getting.

Is that just the verbal and math sections of the SAT or does that include the new writing portion too?

an OU board reports tonight that they are no longer offering him. His video is not very impressive....he's the master of the 'shoestring tackle" it appears....or maybe he's simply "smart enough" to avoid head-on collisions.

To be fair, I wouldn't have minded some more shoestring tackles on our defense last year. It's like we had no arms or legs, and we were trying to tackle a greased pig.

The GPA being so high is what is bothersome. In my head, there is no way the GPA should be that high with a SAT that low.

Either not a legitimate college candidate, not some instance caused him to perform severely bad.

Grades got nothing to do with the WACO school system. VJ no doubt got hte grade boast by taking online courses and remedial prep night classes.

Kid last year had a 2.5 at christmas senior year and qualified with a 3.4 GPA by the end of the year. Not sure who you improve an entire point in a semester.
