Patrick SMU Bound?
Deonte Patrick By Greg Powers
Scout.com
Posted Jan 25, 2008
Deonte Patrick was receiving heavy interest from Hawaii, but now that June Jones is at SMU it is the Mustangs who are tracking him the closest. Bobby Petrino and the Arkansas Razorbacks also turned up the heat, but is it too little too late?
It is getting close to signing day and Deonte Patrick, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound wide receiver from Klein Forest High in Texas is trying to finalize his signing day plans.

Geez taking his SAT on January 26th. whose advising this kid. You can't take a visit until you at least take the SAT. That pretty well explains the lack of visits.

here's some good detail. Note that it conflicts with the latest story on Scout re a visit to Hawaii. Scout quoted Patrick as saying SMU is his first official visit.

Unbelieveable. There are some coaches, counselors, etc who are really not doing their job at all if this is his first time taking the test. And you would think the recruiters would have told him he needed to get the test behind him.

He must know Mike Owens at Tyler Lee.

That first SAT should have been taken in the spring/summer of 2007.
You've got some people in advisory positions who aren't earning their money. Ridiculous. I hope this is a formality and this kid can get a qualifying score.

Both my sons took theirs as sophomores just to get it out of the way. Scored high enough they didn't have to take it again.
