RGV Pony wrote:Proudmama, has JJ given any indication as to what he thinks will be a good playing weight for Evan? From the looks of the pictures at the signing event, it looks like he's closer to a wrestling weight of 275 or 280 vs. 330.

Either way, Evan will go well alongside Elizee and Handy.

Evan is currently around the 285 range. Coach Jones hasn't not specified a preferred weight yet but I'm sure Evan will be more than happy to gain a few pounds.

Looks like Rival's info is WAY off as they list him at 330 lbs. Rivals also lists him at 6'1". Is that his real height or is he shorter than that as some other services have indicates ProudMama?

Evan is currently 6'2" 285 lbs. With a size 15 shoe I would guess he might still have some growing to do.

Perfect Nose Tackle! It would be best for him if he redshirted to get acclimated to college life and get in Vic's strength training program. I wouldn't be surprised, however, if he gets some playing time this year if he does play defense as we need the bulk in the middle!

Not sure what Coach Jones has in store for Evan but he did play NT at Servite.

He will get on the field quicker at nose tackle given our lack of size in the middle. However, I have the feeling that it won't take long for him to win a starting job. Its best, however, for him to get that redshirt year in to get in the strength program and get adjusted to the academics. This adjustment shouldn't be as big for him given that he has gone to a prep school, but there will still be one socially as well as academically.

This guy could be a monster on the field in a year! Maybe even this year!
