Having thrown for nearly four times as many yards as his SAT score, Pulaski quarterback Spencer Keith is a star on the field.
When PonyStampede.com spoke with Keith on Monday morning and learned his SAT verbal and math combined was 1240, we learned he was a star off the field as well. His test scores, coupled with a 4.42 GPA make Keith a true student-athleteâ€â€and he threw for 4800 yards last year, garnering all-conference, all-metro, and all-state honors.
However, the star from Little Rock, Arkansas has not received any official offers.
“I would really like to go to play somewhere in the Ivy League. I have been in contact with Harvard and UPenn, but I haven’t received any offers. I just feel like that’s where I can get the best education.â€

Pulaski Academy -- home of the great Donte Womack. Womack, subject of one of the top coaching blunders in post death penalty history when Mike Cavan benched him for the TCU game in 1997. Not that I'm bitter about that.

More importantly, Pulaski also has a 6-6 /180 WR named Neal Barlow. I'm guessing he can play, because he has an offer from Arkansas.
Someone get Coach Reinebold to look at him. Can't have too many big WRs, right?

Found another story on Barlow that says he's 6-7 and 200 .... and runs a 4.5. Probably stretched a bit, but damn - big dude.

Put him out there with EJ Drewery and throw some jump balls in short yardage situations.

This QB was named most valuable player in last weekends 7 on 7 tournament in Texas. We need him! Do the rules prohibit me, ponyte and mrydel (since we live near him) from taking him out to dinner (on mrydel's credit card, of course)?

I would like to see this kid come here as a WR with that 4.42 40 speed.

I would be worried about you guys doing something like that (not cool) except that from what I have heard, Mrydel's wife has a death grip on his credit card so you guys are SOL.

PK, that was golden.
Any contact is not cool unless you already know him through church or the Masonic lodge or something. Then it is still touchy.

Correct. We can not do anything Arkpony. Coincidentally that is also how my boss describes my work.
Another interesting thing here in recruiting. A Hawaii wide receiver (forgot his name) originally from NW Arkansas is wanting to transfer closer to home. He is leaning towards Arkansas and says his reason for transfer is due to wanting to be near home and not because Jones left. If I recall, he walked on at Hawaii, bulked up and got a scholarship. Right now he is considering Div1 and sitting out or lower level and playing. I would imagine Jones is familiar with the situation and if interested has let it be known in an appropriate fashion.
If Garrett is out there maybe he can shed some more light on this kid. I will try to get his name and edit it into this post.
***EDIT*** Receiver is Eric Shaffer out of Shiloh Christain. He was 5'10" 165, 4.4 out of HS but I think he has bulked up some and keep his speed. Right now looking at Arkansas, Missouri, and Ole Miss.

BTW PK, I am taking my wife to Las Vegas next week. It is a cheap place for me to go since she loses money more slowly than she spends money. As long as I can keep her in the casino and out of the malls I am ok.

But at least at the malls you walk away with something you can sell at a garage sale later on.

Masonic lodge? You couldn't come up with something like "unless you're neighbors"?
