Damn near everyone we've recruited is 6' or better! I'm beginning to fear that with all these kids on our sideline, it's going to be hard for me to see the field. <sigh>

Maybe having all these big guys will ease the concern of those who think we always look smaller than the opponent, although I'm convinced our dark navy blue uniforms have something to do with it.

Yeah, the white jerseys of the visiting team does tend to make their players look bigger...but the reality is they usually are bigger than our guys. Image
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Not true. All women know that dark colors are "slimming".

I still can't get over this group of commitments. Last year, didn't we have just one commitment at this time (Darrian Billups), and he didn't make it to SMU? Two years ago, our first commitment was Jay Taylor, and he didn't commit until the day before the final game. Before that, we never had any commitments until January. And I gather the kids who have committed so far are a notch or two above what we've gotten in the past.

I know recruiting classes can't accurately be evaluated until a couple years later, but I can't help but be excited about the future under Coach Bennett and his staff.

No joke man. When Nevada and Rice shove it down your throat and whip ya, its time to get some hosses. The Nevada rbs and linemen were pushing the pile forward all day.
