yes but the fact that the kid went to the trouble of getting his Division 1A release suggests that probably is looking to go Division 1A. Also, a kid who is concerned enough about his education to go to Northwestern hopefully means he wouldn't settle for bottom tier education.

When he was a senior, I went to the Jesuit game against Dallas Carter, which featured All-America OT Jonathan Scott, who already had committed to Texas. Derricks threw him around. Physically whipped him. He's extremely impressive.
I've heard he's actually close to 6'1" but either way, he's a lot bigger and stronger than most of the DTs we have now.

If this kid really whipped Jonathan Scott, he needs to be Priority #1 for the SMU recruiting staff. I find it hard to believe, but it it's true - wow.
