None have been announced and no interest has been expressed by any recruit that I can detect on the recruiting services. however there was a rumor that SMU had received a commitment from a FB named Travis Cones which has not been confirmed. BTW Max Emfinger is extremely high on this kid but no offers were apparent in early Dec. JC signing date was in mid-Dec but some times with the less publized kids schools don't announce JC signees until they enroll in school in January. If Cones did sign we would probably know in the next few days if he intended to go thru spring practice.

Travis' profile:

More info on Travis:

It sounds like grades were never an issue with Travis. He went to St. Thomas here in Houston and got no offers as a prep, so he went to a JC to play ball.

Here is some information from the Texas JC combine (Travis is mentioned):

Damn nice stats. I like this kid! Super fast for a FB (4.44), and evidently has great hands. People REALLY aren't going to like trying to tackle both this kid and Massey. OUCH!

Benches 370, squats 550, reps 225 on the bench times!! Wow!

He sounds like a mirror image of Richuel Massey. Same height and weight, perhaps a small step slower and not quite as freakish in the weight room - but stronger than most backs out there, by a longshot. Do we have room for him?

...And stronger than several of our current lineman that I could name ...And a devastating blocker ...And evidently has great hands.

Opens up a lot of options out of the backfield don't you think?
