we have watched wolcott for years and he continues to get better every year. He has a whole menu of kick types and a strong and accurate leg. This season he has been in the top five of all national polls and truly a scolarship player. If no room at SMU someone will take him and Smu will be sorry. No way he should walk on as he deserves a scolie..

I know we didn't have many "close" losses this year, but a few of those point spreads were due in part to the fact that we weren't kicking field goals until we got to the 10 yard line. What was the game where we got inside the 40 about 6 times without scoring? Foregoing all of those kicks and coming up empty sure takes the wind out of the sails of the defense, and puts a lot of pressure on the offense.

Ryan is a good guy and will be successful. He just needs to go somewhere besides SMU and make a name for himself and not be known for being Doak Walker's grandson and E.D. Walker's great-grandson.

He'll be alright at SMU - let's get him here somehow.

I don't thikn he would feel any unusual pressure, after all --

1. he's a kicker, not a running back or a quarterback;
2. i would guess that only a small % of SMU students even know who Doak or E.D. Walker are; and
3. our recent kickers have been so terrible that an even average kicker would look great to SMU fans

Don't give up on McMurtray. He's too good to give up on if he gets a full season to develop his confidence and a rhythm.

not giving up yet (have heard that he's much better in practice than in games), but it would be great to have a second option to go to if he doesn't find it in a hurry.
