Martin down to SMU and CU

Postby Mr. Ed » Sun Feb 02, 2003 10:34 pm

Rivals just posted a story on Kharylake Martin's trip to CU. He said he had a really good trip and that it is now down to CU and SMU. He plans on making a decision tomorrow.
Hopefully, the whirlwind of the CU offer will be overshadowed by our long pursuit of this guy. I'm sure Coach Bennett will be showing him a lot of love over the next day.
It would be great to grab a recruit who has offers from CU and OU.

The coaches have been very faithful to Martin. It's time for him to show a little faith in the coaches, and to reward their faith by making the right decision.

...for what It matters he said he really liked Colorado but quickly added but I like SMU alot too. I never can correctly predict these things. Usually it is a good thing when they come home from their last visit uncommitted especially with the quiet period upon us. I'm sure Colrado pressured him to commit over the weekend because they wont be able to contact other recruits to offer that scholarship during the quiet period.

I know a couple of posters questioned as to whether Martin has kept SMU dangling in this process. I think it has been the opposite. He appears to be very level-headed in his decision-making. We dug ourselves this hole (through no one's fault)by not having an offensive line coach in place until last week.
My guess is that he would have already committed to us and the CU visit would never had happened.
I hope the news is good today!
