Re: GuruLet me point out that I have not seen him play. I got this information from collegues who have.
With that said, I do have a little information on Orr. I'm a little embarrassed to admit I don't know exactly how big he is. However, I do know that he's pretty mobile - he has good speed and vision, allowing him to find seams in the defense when he tucks the ball and takes off. As a passer, he has good mechanics but needs polish. He threw for more than 1,300 yards as a junior, but completed just 44 percent of his passes and threw more interceptions (14) than touchdowns (12). However, one source in particular raved about his mechanics. Coaches dread having a quarterback who side-arms the ball, or even throws with a three-quarters motion. Orr throws directly overhand, and releases the ball at its highest point, making it difficult for opponents to knock down his passes. I also was told he has very good footwork — he gets back into his drop quickly and gets his feet set early, and he maintains excellent balance, which allows him to quickly check off to other receivers or tuck the ball and take off. When I get more information, I'll let you know. [This message has been edited by Recruiting Guru (edited 02-07-2003).]
