you know I really don't see this as a problem because when UT loads up early it tells the recruits who don't get a UT offer that they may need to start looking elsewhere especially when UT fills up at their position. The same thing happened last year after UT's spring game and camps although A&M really started off strong too-I think Richuel Massey learned pretty early that his dream team Texas probably wouldn't offer and then when Bennett showed him a little "love" and told him that he was their top prospect Massey found that very appealing and still committed early to the Ponies. Some of these kids need a little dose of reality because MANY will list schools like UT, OU, ND, USC et al when they ought to be setting their sights on the more realistic options like SMU, TCU, Baylor or Tech. The chances of SMU out recruiting UT or A&M for a top national prospect are probably in the 2-3% range anyway. Let UT and A&M fill up early so SMU can concentrate on that second tier of Top Texas prospects who we might have a more legitimate shot at before the rest of the BCS schools from across the country have a chance to study the Texas crop and swoop down late in the recruiting process. I've always felt that the Texas schools have a big advantage over the national schools recruiting Texas if they can make a strong impression before the end of the regular season.
