Dallas Defensive Ends

A lot has been written here about Corey Green of Madison HS, and with good reason - he's a very good player. If we could get Green AND Micah Howarth (6-4, 240) of W.T. White, that would give us two more extremely quick, strong DE's who are still growing. Not to mention the fact that it would further open the DISD pipeline to SMU. Howarth was one of the only players with any talent on the W.T. White roster last year, and should be in the same situation this year -- the team is terrible, but he's a fantastic athlete, and he's just scratching the surface on his talent.

We also need DL Ryan Johnson of Carter, and it would be nice to add LB Alvin Newhouse, too -- a DE/LB from South Oak Cliff, I think. Talk about adding speed to the defense!

All four of those should be recruited fairly heavily. Not to say we don't have a shot, but we'll face serious competition for each of them. Johnson and Green, in particular, should draw the attention of the bigger programs. The coaches have their work cut out for them.

Howarth moves like a tailback. He's amazing to watch. If he had any help on that WTW defense, he'd have 3 sacks per game.
