Think of it this way, if one can assume a direct relationship between recruiting and success on the field, a #75 to 80 ranking would put us in fifth place in the conference right now behind Tulsa, Houston, East Carolina, and Rice.

not sure I agree with that at all.......

yea our starting team is half people JJ brought in.

And the incoming recruits are being fed a steady diet of "you can make an immediate impact, just look at all the HSFR out there now!"

I interviewed a number of the HSFR last season and it was interesting to see the split between those who came to SMU because they would get 5 years at a great institution, and those who came here because they could get on the field quicker.

To put this in perspective, PB's 1st class, under much tighter restrictions, and with less fan-fare (JJ vs. PB), was ranked somewhat higher by Rivals.

Thought it was around #65.

only 5 or so guys from PB's original class contributed so it was either a very overrated or mismanaged class

How many TCU commits are solid? How many are qualifiers? I suspect even if TCU wins the MWC, Patterson stays put. I don't see him going to Washington, Clemson, Auburn or Tennessee. Syracuse might be a possibility. I don't see many jobs opening up this year at the BCS level.

I haven't heard anything lately, but is Arkansas still putting the bull rush on the Maud Squad?
When will I start feeling stimulated??
