Guard considering SMU

Jermany Griffin (6-3, 288, 5.1) of Marlin, Texas has SMU on his early list, which also includes Arkansas, Colorado, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas A&M and TCU

What are they doing down in Marlin? I've never heard of the town, and I have no idea where it is, but I keep reading that they have several prospects who are expected to get offers from major programs. Since when was Marlin a football factory? Do they have a new coach or something?
