Breaking tradition?

Postby Lefty » Mon May 12, 2003 1:40 pm

SMU has never been known as a recruiting force at Galena Park (North Shore) HS. But it appears there's an outside linebacker - and a really good one - at North Shore who's considering SMU.

Charles Robinson

Bio/Notes: Robinson earned first-team all-district honors as a junior and second-team all-district honors as sophomore.

His list: Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame, SMU, Michigan State, Northwestern, Baylor

Sure would be nice to tap into the talent down there. North Shore cranks out a lot of good players every year.

Every player I've ever seen who came out of that school has one common trait: speed. Don't know what's in the water down there, but they always seem to have a track team in pads and helmets.
