Oklahoma DT considering Ponies

Postby Buddha » Fri May 16, 2003 4:50 pm

Defensive tackle Mayjor Connally (6-1, 267, 4.8) of Oklahoma City (Millwood), Okla., has SMU on his list that also includes Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

He's a high school teammate of 2003 SMU signee Cory Muse.

His size isn't overwhelming, but look at that 4-8 - that's lightning quick for a DT. Besides, Coach Bennett has had some very successful DTs who don't quite measure up in the size department, but make up for it with great quickness and hustle. Maybe this guy could be the next one in that line?

Does anyone know if he and Cory Muse are good friends? Maybe that would help get him to Dallas.

If this guy turns out to be another BK, then we've hit a gold mine. A lot of preseason lists I've seen (including the preseason list on collegefootballnews.com) have Kennedy listed as first-team all-America, at least heading into the season. To get that kind of recognition at a school like UNT says an awful lot. He's a sensational player, and if this guy even resembles him, I want him at SMU.
